Youth Representatives for Resolving Youth Issues in Sarajevo Canton

The Institute for Youth Development KULT was visited today by Mario Vukasovi? and Neira Avdibegovi?, representatives at the Parliamentary Assembly of Sarajevo Canton.  

As a part of their visit to the Institute they learned more about the initiatives of the Institute for resolving the issue of youth unemployment, the political participance of youth, training officials for youth issues and expert associates on youth work, as well as about other initiatives for improving the whole position of youth through enacting strategic solutions and cooperation with authorities at all levels. During this working visit, the possibilities for cooperation in the processes currently active in the Canton were mentioned, during which the guests and representatives of the Institute exchanged ideas and emphasized the importance of MPs’ activities referring to the “open door” principle in order to listen to the citizens’ requirements and introduce them better with their work.

Enacting strategic and legal solutions for youth that Sarajevo Canton lacks in order for all youth in BiH to have equal opportunities and to concretize youth policy in this Canton were also discussed in the meeting. Mario Vukasovi?, the representative at the Parliamentary Assembly of Sarajevo Canton, expressed great interest in the activites implemented by the Institute and underlined the importance of joint action of the governmental and the non-governmental sector in this area. “The primary focus of my activites is the area of education and youth problems in our country but I am also ready to work and cooperate on all other issues of relevance for the citizens of the Canton. I believe that the Institute has presented itself as a reliable partner to the executive and legislative authority in the processes of improving the youth position and I sincerely hope that we will establish cooperation through concrete activities” – said Mario Vukasovi?.  

At the end of the meeting, further steps in cooperation were arranged. Soon these youth representatives will visit the Educational-Leisure Cantre for Youth SPAJALICA where they will talk to youth. Their requirements, as Vukasovi? and Avdibegovi? claim, will be included in the parliamentary questions that will soon be presented to the other MPs at the Parliamentary Assembly of Sarajevo Canton.
