Representatives of Institute for Youth Development KULT and SDP BiH Discussed Law on Volunteering of FBiH

Representatives of the Institute for Youth Development KULT held a meeting today with Mr. Irfan ?engi?, the General Secretary of SDP BiH. They discussed the manners of helping FBiH youth in acquiring their first working experience through the Law on Volunteering of FBiH which was developed by the Institute for Youth Development KULT that also started the initiative of adopting the Law.

Youth unemployment is vast in the Federation of BiH. Research demonstrated that there are 67.1% of youth unemployed in the Federation. The competition in the labour market is great and youth require the opportunity to acquire working experience in order to be competitive in the crowded labour market. According to Irfan ?engi?, the General Secretary of SDP, one of the manners is to improve the Law on Volunteering. “The idea is to provide more opportunities for youth to volunteer that would, in accordance with the Law, be regarded as working experience” – said ?egi?. Representatives of the Institute agreed that providing opportunities for youth to acquire working experience is very important, through supporting every initiative that aims to strengthen youth and prepare them for the labour market, particularly for employment in the economic sector.

The Institute for Youth Development KULT will continue to work on a more quality implementation of Law on Volunteering of FBiH that was adopted in December 2012.
