The final conference “Perspectives on Adult Education” was held. The participants were presented with the current situation in the field of adult education in Tuzla Canton, along with the most important project results and strategic documents developed during the project activities.
Guide to Adult Education in Tuzla Canton, Analysis of the Condition in the Field of Adult Education in Tuzla Canton and the Proposal of Strategy and Action Plan on Adult Education are the concrete results of the project implementation.
The relevance of non-formal and informal education in the process of lifelong learning was presented through the research “How do adults learn?”. The research was conducted by the Primary School Simin Han that has been focusing on adult education for a very long time.
Besides the research, a conference participant, Mr. Fikret Vrtagi? from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Tuzla Canton elaborated on the priorities of adult education, while Mr. Korjeni? from the Centre for Adult Education Gra?anica shared some experiences in the field of adult education.
During the discussion, the representative of the Institute emphasized that the Youth Strategy of FBiH is currently being developed and that adult education in BiH should be an important segment of the future strategy due to its relevance for employment and preventing emigration from BiH.
The project “Adult Education in the Context of Lifelong Learning in Tuzla Canton” generally supports and contributes to the concept of lifelong learning and adult education. The project builds on the existing efforts in the field of adult education and supports the existing initiatives related to lifelong learning. The project activities aim to connect three sectors: educational, economic and governmental, for the purpose of supporting the reduction of unemployment rates in the Tuzla Canton and beyond.
The project is being implemented by the BOSPO Association from Tuzla and the project partner is the Centre for Adult Education from Gra?anica. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Tuzla Canton, the Institute for Pedagogy of Tuzla Canton, the Employment Agency of Tuzla Canton and the Association of the Unemployed of Tuzla Canton expressed their support of the project.
The general aim of the project is support the establishing of a lifelong learning system in the Tuzla Canton by elevating the social dialogue and providing for systemic improvements in the field of adult education.
