The third module of the five-day Journalism Academy of 2014, within the frame of the regional project “Promotion of freedom of expression and professional journalistic standards” was held on Jahorina. BiH Journalists Association and the Council of Europe organised the event with the Government of Norway support.
Institute for Youth Development Representative, Mirela Ajanovi? Ali? presented the Institute’s initiative regarding the 2014 elections for the public media editors, commercial TVs, agencies, press and news portals on “Balance reporting during the pre-election campaign” at the Journalism Academy.
– The participants had the chance to be introduced to the information and the opportunities offered by the web platform for government institutions monitoring – Integritet.ba, M1 The Right One for Youth and Votematch – an online voting preference tool. The aforementioned initiatives will provide sustainable information for the journalists and therefore contribute a righteous and balanced reporting on the 12 October 2014 general elections, stated Ali?.
The 3rd module was dedicated to the education of editors and journalists of public services, commercial journalists, printed media, news portal and press agencies in order to balance the reporting during the pre-election campaign that journalists deal with for the last 4-5 years in order to ameliorate skills and knowledge during the media covering of pre- election campaigns in a way which ensures good and quality information about the political parties and candidates for the citizens.
The 3rd module concludes this year’s cycle of education and they intend to continue this form of journalist’s education about topics important for editors and journalists across BiH outside the institutions.
