KULT Signs Cooperation Agreement with Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports

Institute for Youth Development KULT has signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports. The Agreement Signing Ceremony took place on 10 July 2012, at 11:00 hours.

As part of the Cooperation Agreement signed between the Institute for Youth Development KULT and the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, both Parties to the Agreement are willing to mutually contribute to meeting the provisions under the Youth Law of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina which was passed in June 2010. In view of the Agreement, the Partners will be striving towards making an analysis of the Government’s youth measures, based on a survey planned to be carried out, but also towards creating and promoting a youth policy in FBiH. Furthermore, upon relying on the measures arising from the Agreement, the Signatory Parties are going to develop a procedure for training and certification of youth officers, and they will also endeavour to inform young people from FBiH of youth programs administered by the FBiH Government. The Cooperation Agreement aims to create the conditions for sustainable development of the youth sector in FBiH, as well as for a long-term resolution of the problems and needs of young people identified in the light of conducted surveys.

Current problems and needs that are obstructing the development of government and non-governmental youth sectors are reflected in the lack of a youth policy which would be adopted at all levels of government and which would be in compliance with the Law, absence of sufficient administrative and technical staff to pursue enforcement of the Law, and young people’s poor awareness of the measures undertaken by the FBiH Government in order to improve the position of youth.

Cooperation between the Contracting Parties is manifested in generating an environment focused on establishing and improving institutional mechanisms for youth care in FBiH, in accordance with the Youth Law of FBiH.
