The Mayor of Bosanska Krupa Armin Halitovi? has received the award for an Innovative example of good cooperation between municipalities and NGOs as part of the selection process of best practices in implementing the Agreement on Cooperation between local authorities and NGOs in BiH. This award has been given by the Civil Society Promotion Centre.
The Commission made ??the selection of the best practice-champions of the Agreement for 2011, and decided to award Bosanska Krupa Municipality the annual award in the field of Innovative examples of good cooperation between municipalities and NGOs for its cooperation with the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
“Bosanska Krupa Municipality, the Municipal Council and the NGO sector signed an agreement on cooperation in 2009 and ever since this relationship has been perceived as a joint activity of the government and non-governmental sectors maintained at a higher level. This recognition obliges us to continue working even more with the civil sector that is to say with non-governmental organisations. Today it was mentioned, and I agree, that the government sector needs to accept the non-governmental sector as a partner, not as an opposition, because initiatives originate from the NGO sector which the government sector should implement, thereby realise the wishes and demands of the citizens concerning certain projects” said the Mayor Halitovi? following the award ceremony.
The award stands for the recognition of best practices in developing a dialogue across sectors and cooperation based on fundamental values ??and principles of the Agreement and its practical execution.
