As of Today, the Change Is up To ME!!!

Today is December 5! Perhaps it is in no way special for anyone. Just a cold December day and a Sunday. We do not blame you, for most it is just an ordinary day, but we have turned an ordinary to a very extraordinary day! Starting time: 11:55 am. Or is it stopping time? We are frozen in our positions of everyday activities and rat race to demonstrate the current condition of the society – FROZEN!

We began in a sad manner, with a minute of silence for the bee no longer with us, Emina Dautovi?. We are proud that she participated in this story! Emina, thank you!

We held 17 identical performances in 17 different locations entitled Say YES to Volunteering! and as a part of it, we immediately continued the “search” for several decent hours of volunteering. The performances and volunteering activities were held in the following municipalities: IlidĹľa, Vogoš?a, Isto?na IlidĹľa, Srebrenica, Prijedor, Velika Kladuša, Ĺ ekovi?i, Vlasenica, Ĺ˝ep?e, Ĺ ipovo, Bugojno, Tuzla, Br?ko, Grada?ac, Doboj, Gra?anica.

Girls from the area of IlidĹľa and all four municipalities of Sarajevo held a joint performance in Mala Aleja in IlidĹľa and found several locations in which they demonstrated that by volunteering, one can play different roles in society and that everything is possible. 

In case you have not realised what this is about… Today was the International Volunteering Day and we celebrated it in our own manner by demonstrating to everyone the image of the society until today, the image that we are changing as of today. We, the volunteers of the Institute KULT, representing the project KOĹ NICA (BEEHIVE) – strengthening youth leaders in youth organisations and the Volunteer Diary Network were there today and will be there on every December 5. 

By celebrating this day we aimed to show that people forgot on all other values besides the material ones. Today we tried to change our collective awareness, we strived to point out the significance and value of volunteering to citizens and animated and surprised them, particualrly the youth. This was our goal, because we do exist!

Thank you for your surprised smiles and gratitude you have given us today! We promise to see you again and cause more people to smile, only then, we will do it together.
