Businesses in Youth Centres

With the generous support of the American people through the US Embassy in Sarajevo, the Institute is launching the initiative Businesses in Youth Centres. With this initiative, we want to increase the competitiveness and employment of youth workers, representatives of youth centres in BiH.

Youth workers from twelve youth centres in BiH will acquire entrepreneurial skills in order to start social businesses in the centres that promote income generation and centre sustainability in the local community.

Representatives of youth centres will be invited to a training course on entrepreneurship and writing business plans, and given the opportunity to put their business ideas into practice within the frame of the course. Businesses rated best by the Institute’s commission will receive financial support for launching a business in individual amounts of up to 6000.00 BAM, and the launched businesses will be promoted to the public. Businesses that we wish to support are innovative, sustainable, necessary for the community and supported by local authorities.

All youth workers who undergo the training course will be able to connect youth work and social businesses. In addition to acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to make the centre sustainable, they will also be able toprovide a stimulating environment for children and youth, who will get the opportunity to undertake activities with the aim of increasing their sense of civic responsibility, which will consequently increase the employment chances for young people who visit the centres.

The project is implemented by the Institute for Youth Development KULT, with the financial support of the U.S. Embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
