Members of the Initiative Group Albach in Sarajevo are preparing another interesting Beyond Forum Alpbach – Sarajevo World CafĂ© for the end of the year on Startup in BiH – Opportunities and Challenges.
The 7th Sarajevo World Café aims to provide youth with opportunities to start an own start-up business and idea development, considering that the encouragement of young entrepreneurs is one of the most important manners of tackling the unemployment of this population in BiH.
To summarize, start-up is a newfound company, partnership or an organisation in the development stage, business model creation or market search, Start-ups may appear in all shapes and sizes and are usually associated with technology companies.
The term hub is associated with the start-ups, which is a city, area, or simply a space providing best conditions and climate for starting a new business. Start-ups often share so called coworking spaces, enabling them to develop and grow under the same roof.
The following guests will speak about the opportunities and challenges for start-up development in Bosnia and Herzegovina:
- Ceco Gakovi? – the founder of Enthusio.com, known as the mentor of the „NEST71 Accelerator Program“, the first regional start-up accelerator implemented in the IT park HUB387.
- Selma Ĺ ehi? – start-up activist and the BIZOO – Business Innovation Zoo start-up accelerator manager.
- Diana Džaka – founder and manager of the online store Evergreenest.ba, and an active associate in several start-ups under development. She has significant experience in project management and marketing, with a special accent on digital marketing.
- Ranko Markuš – director of representative office of the GOPA mbH consulting company and the team leader of the Swiss Youth Employment Project that provided jobs for over 3000 young people in the past 6 years.
- Almir Muka?a – entrepreneur and the founder of Krompir.ba, completely carried out via Facebook, which makes it the only project in the region acknowledged by the Facebook studio.
The November Café on “Startup in BiH – opportunities and challenges” will be held on November 27 at The School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo at 18:00.
Due to a limited capacity, Sarajevo World CafĂ© requires participants’ application through a simple registration – HERE. Applications will remain open until November 21 midnight.

Beyond Forum Alpbach: Sarajevo World Café project aims to make interesting and undermentioned topics closer to youth, as well as to provide the opportunity of direct conversation about a certain topic with the lecturers/people of the profession, in a non-formal atmosphere.
