After a highly successful fashion show on the roof of the Skenderija Youth Center in Sarajevo, the IMPAKT Fashion Show once again exceeded all expectations, this time in front of a large Banja Luka audience.

Ana Elena Banduka and Naida Kustura and their IMPAKT team organized a fashion show at the Youth Center in Banja Luka, with the support of the Institute for Youth Development KULT, and at the invitation of the City Administration of Banja Luka.

The Youth Center in Banja Luka was transformed into a fashion runway where youth, beauty, and creativity had a chance to shine. In front of over 150 guests, seven young BiH designers showcased their collections.

“The fashion show in Banja Luka once again exceeded all our expectations. We are delighted with young people who are willing to cooperate, and brimming with new ideas and enthusiasm. This cooperation will definitely continue and we can’t wait to host them in Sarajevo after we finish with mentoring and supporting them in creating their own collections.  In addition to the shows, we want to help young creative people network, cooperate and access training,” said Ana Elena Banduka, participant of the 17th UMiD training and one of the organizers.

At the IMPAKT fashion show, young designers presented their work based on responsible and sustainable slow fashion principles, which is becoming increasingly popular. Responsible slow fashion entails designing with environmentally friendly methods and recycled materials.

“Like most young people, I appreciate the opportunity to show my art and creativity, and at the same time share what I learned with those younger than me. I would like to thank the Youth Center and the City of Banja Luka for their hospitality and kindness,” said Samir Mrković, one of the designers who showed his work at the fashion show.

Alongside the impressive fashion show that the audience loved, the IMPAKT team also offered a workshop on environmentally responsible design for young people in Banja Luka who are interested in this topic. The IMPAKT team will mentor new designers from Banja Luka in the coming months, helping them apply what they’ve learned to create their first collections. After last night’s show, young designers will have the chance to showcase their first spring/summer collections at the IMPAKT Fashion Show Sarajevo in the spring of 2023.

“I’m participating in a training about responsible fashion and design. I’m happy we were given an opportunity to participate, and I see that this resonated with a lot of people. Some of my friends were models, and some were make-up artists and hairstylists backstage, so we all participated in the process. Since I’m very interested in how fashion shows are organized, I tried my best to help the team from IMPAKT Sarajevo and it was such a pleasure. I am looking forward to future cooperation and events like this one,” said Lara Skopljak, a participant from Banja Luka.

By supporting yet another fantastic fashion show and a group of creative young people, the Institute for Youth Development KULT and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in Bosnia and Herzegovina continue our collaboration to empower young people by building and strengthening their leadership skills. The creativity of the IMPAKT team extends beyond Bosnia and Herzegovina’s borders. In mid-October, the team will showcase their designs at a fashion show in Vienna, organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic, in collaboration with the High School of Art and Design and the Higher Vocational School of Brno.
