Improve Job Seeking Skills to Make the Process Easier!

During the final, 10th, module, the participants of the 14th training Learn, Think, and Act! learned about Job seeking. The module was held at the Educational-Leisure Center for Youth SPAJALICA, from September 5 to September 7. Several participants already had some work experience or had previously looked for a job. For them, this module helped analyse what they did well and what they need to improve on, while others had a chance to learn about the challenges on the labour market.

The participants learned how to write a CV and cover letter, and how to behave during a job interview. They left the training with some basic information about the labour market in Bosnia and Herzegovina, what employers are looking for, which jobs are in high demand, and what the statistics are. Using what they learned, the participants analysed their current position on the labour market, their wishes and wants, and the skills they need to hone to get the job they want.

“As an intern of the Institute for Youth Development KULT, I was given an opportunity to attend the last module of UMiD. The topic was very interesting and useful, even for someone like me, who was familiar with the job seeking process and everything it entails. I have some experience with that, but the advice I got during this module will make my job seeking easier and help me put my best foot forward when interacting with potential employers.”, said Sumeja Huseinović, intern at the Institute for Youth Development KULT.

In addition to learning new skills, the participants used this module to socialise and have fun. Being the last module, it was spent in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. It strengthened the bonds among the participants, who will remain friends even after UMiD.

This module is the first time I see the participants, and I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised with how warmly they received me. During this module, we spent time together and shared our experiences. I’m glad to have been a part of this, and I hope to stay in touch with the people I met.” - Sumeja Huseinović.
All the participants who meet the required criteria will be able to sit the final exam - the last step before receiving a certificate of completion. After the test, the participants will be awarded certificates during a ceremony marking the formal end of the UMiD training.
