Youth Work Week Continues in Bugojno: Creating a Space for Dialogue, Creativity, and Community

Youth Work Week began in Zavidovići, with song, film, and youthful enthusiasm, and moved on to bring the same energy to Bugojno. To mark International Youth Day, the Bugojno Youth Center organized activities that brought together children and young people, combining discussions about important social issues with opportunities for creative expression.

The program opened with a Toxic Masculinity workshop led by certified trainer Edina Milanović Gudić. Young participants discussed gender stereotypes, social expectations, and the importance of building healthy relationships grounded in equality.

Creative energy was abundant on August 14th, during a drawing workshop for children and young people led by Summeja Čaušević. Their colorful, imaginative works were displayed that evening at an exhibition that drew attention from the local community.

Youth Work Week in Bugojno concluded with a jewelry-making workshop led by Sarah Cinco. Children and young people watched their ideas come to life as they created unique pieces through hands-on activities and socializing.

All activities took place at the Bugojno Youth Center in a welcoming atmosphere of community and support. Youth Work Week demonstrated once again that spaces can be created throughout BiH where young people have opportunities to engage in dialogue, express themselves creatively, and contribute to their communities.

Youth Work Week is an initiative of the Institute for Youth Development KULT, created to celebrate the dedication and creativity of young people and those who work with them. Activities across BiH remind us that young people deserve space to be seen, and youth work should be recognized as a force that changes society.

WHY DO WE CELEBRATE YOUTH WORK WEEK?

Because youth work changes lives. It creates opportunities where there might not have been any. It empowers young people to believe in themselves and take action. It engenders trust, skills, solidarity, and hope. Youth Work Week is our first step toward creating a tradition that celebrates achievements while also opening space for discussion about the challenges and needs of young people in BiH. Youth Work Week builds on the Second Convention on Working with Youth in BiH and the Fourth European Convention on Youth Work, representing a joint step forward in strengthening the youth sector in our country.
