Social changes and innovations are one of the best indicators of just how engaged young people can be and how much they can contribute to raising the standards and quality of life of young people and other members of their local community.

YOUTH INNOVATION AWARD 2022 – #YIA2022 is an opportunity for young people who think about ways to change society for the better by driving positive change themselves with their innovative ideas. The goal of #YIA2022 is to recognize and acknowledge future innovative youth leaders, their work, and their importance in society and to encourage young people to contribute and actively participate in creating better lives for everyone. At the initiative of the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Jan Waltmans, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Institute for Youth Development KULT are organizing an awards ceremony recognizing the best social innovations designed by young people.

Young people face challenges and problems in their communities every day. Some of these problems are different across communities, and young people may have different priorities based on what they are facing. In the process of designing the Youth Innovation Award 2022, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Institute for Youth Development KULT identified key areas that would benefit from innovative ideas:

  • human rights,
  • environmental protection, and
  • the rule of law.

#YIA2022 encourages youth to be brave and tackle the problems their communities are facing. #YIA2022 gives young people a platform to share their innovations, ideas, suggestions, and initiatives aimed at improving the lives of their peers and everyone else in their communities. Young people can lead the way with good ideas targeting problems and challenges.
