To improve cooperation and establish shared goals in youth development, the Institute for Youth Development KULT signed a cooperation protocol with the Association for Education and Development from Podgorica. Our cooperation was formalized as the first step in our efforts to improve the quality of life and the position of young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
One of the initial outcomes of this collaboration is the initiative “Youth Voices are the Voices of the Future,” supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe. It is an international initiative to improve the capacities of union activists from seven European countries.
During a six-month initiative, young union activists from Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Greece, and Turkey will have the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills that will help them become more actively involved in democratic processes, advocate more effectively for youth rights, and promote equal access to opportunities for young people. The initiatives led by young union activists will focus not only on labor rights, central to the union’s mission but also on other social rights crucial for young people. This demonstrates that these activists can influence institutional change and play a vital role in advocating for youth.
The initiative is coordinated by the Association for Education and Development from Montenegro, and other partners, in addition to the Institute, include: the Youth Development Center from Serbia, Union of Administration and Justice from Montenegro, Utility Workers Union from Serbia, Union UPOZ from Macedonia, Union of Administration Workers from Republika Srpska and Union MLADI PLUS from Slovenia.
“Youth Voices are the Voices of the Future” is an initiative aimed at showcasing that young union activists, equipped with specialized knowledge and skills, play crucial roles in shaping policies for young people. This influence extends beyond their organizations and local communities to impact national, regional, and European levels.
