Representatives of the Institute for Youth Development KULT met with officials from the Municipality of Vareš, including youth officer Malika Likić, to discuss upcoming activities. The meeting resulted in a clear plan that will serve as the basis for a survey and the development of a youth strategy for the municipality.
By launching this process, the Municipality of Vareš demonstrates its commitment to improving the position of young people through structured, consistent action. They are particularly committed to creating new opportunities and expanding activities that will help build a more supportive and engaging local environment for youth. The Municipality recognizes young people as one of the municipality’s key development resources and as active contributors to Vareš’s economic, social, and cultural development.
During the visit, the Institute also delivered a training programme for young members of the association Moja prva nota. With professional and mentoring support from the Institute, these young people will carry out the survey on the position and needs of youth in the Municipality of Vareš. This analysis is a crucial step toward developing a realistic, sustainable, and high-quality youth strategy grounded in the actual needs, challenges, and potential of young people.
Through cooperation between the Municipality of Vareš, the Institute for Youth Development KULT, and young people themselves, the groundwork is being laid for policies and measures that will expand opportunities for education and employment, encourage active participation in community life, and improve the overall quality of life for young people in the municipality.
The youth strategy of the Vareš municipality is being developed as part of the project “Designing, Developing and Adopting Youth Policies”, which is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Institute for Youth Development KULT in partnership with the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO), the Youth Council of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Network of youth centers for animation, development and training of Republika Srpska (M.O.C.A.R.T.) and the Association of Secondary School Students in BiH.
