UMiD Youth Leaders in Action

Emina Zolota, a UMID 15 participant, is proof that empowering youth by enhancing skills and fostering leadership through the Learn, Think, and Act! UMiD training for youth leaders has long-term positive effects on the BiH society.

Over the past few days, Sarajevo hosted the eighth edition of the international project “Leaders of Tomorrow,” organized by the Electrical Engineering Students’ European Association’s Local Committee in Sarajevo. The Local Committee competed with 46 committees from all over Europe for the honor of organizing this international project, with a team of hard-working and motivated students led by our brilliant Emina.

“After the UMiD training and implementing my local civic initiative and other projects, I can say I have only the best experiences with KULT. I am glad the Institute partnered with us to support this project, aimed at training individuals for engagement in the non-governmental sector locally and internationally. By equipping electrical engineering students, our future engineers, with the necessary knowledge and tools for leadership positions, team and project management focused on overcoming potential obstacles, and by encouraging creativity, self-awareness, and the exchange of ideas and experiences, we presented BiH in the best light, said Emina with pride.

As a true leader, Emina and her team provided students from 15 countries not only with professional knowledge and skills but also with an opportunity to learn about the cultural and historical wealth of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The final ceremony, attended by the Institute, clearly showed the strong impression this experience left on the guests.

The Institute for Youth Development KULT believes in empowering young leaders to actively participate in our democratic society because young people are not only the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina but also its present.

We at the Institute are proud of this young team, our Emina, and all other young people who continue to grow, learn, and bring change to their communities even after completing the training. We are so happy that our paths keep crossing, and these young people see the Institute as a partner who is willing and determined to support their ambitions.
