Thanks to the Institute, Funds Double for Banja Luka Youth

Today, Jasmin Bešić, CEO of the Institute for Youth Development KULT, and Draško Stanivuković, mayor of Banja Luka, signed a cooperation agreement to double the funds available for co-funding projects of youth organizations. As a result, the available funds for youth organization projects in Banja Luka have doubled, increasing from 30,000 BAM to 60,000 BAM.

“I am pleased that the City of Banja Luka is involved in this project, which will provide more funds for co-financing projects designed by youth and youth organizations. This initiative will undoubtedly enhance the quality of life for young people in our community,” said Stanivuković, expressing gratitude to the Institute for acknowledging Banja Luka’s effective collaboration with its youth.

Youth organizations in Banja Luka will receive 60,000 BAM to fund projects aimed at improving the position of young people. The projects will be aligned with the city’s existing youth policy and will, therefore, contribute to its implementation.

“This partnership is very important for us because youth organizations in Banja Luka have a long-standing presence. The city also boasts a functional Youth Center and strong collaboration with these organizations,” said Jasmin Bešić, CEO of the Institute for Youth Development KULT.

The goal is to enhance transparency in fund allocation, create a better environment and more opportunities for young people, and establish an NGO funding model. This will allow NGOs to deliver targeted and measurable solutions to the problems of young people in local communities and across BiH. Therefore, the Institute and the City of Banja Luka will collaborate to streamline the fund allocation process for organizations, aiming to improve the quality of life for young people in Banja Luka.

A public call for youth projects will be announced in May, and the Institute and the City of Banja Luka will fund them through this fund, proving how important and necessary this initiative is.

To assist local self-government units in Bosnia and Herzegovina with establishing a funding model for youth-focused non-governmental organizations, four local communities have been selected to participate in this project – Banja Luka, Teslić, Tuzla and Ilidža.

These activities are part of the Capacity Building Works initiative, which is supported by the Government of Switzerland and implemented by the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
