Schools Are More Than Classrooms! Institute Launches New Teacher Training Program for BiH High Schools with Support of UniCredit Foundation

Schools have immense potential to drive positive social change. With this exact goal in mind, the Institute for Youth Development KULT proudly presents a new program designed for high school teachers across Bosnia and Herzegovina – EduConnect BiH – Applied Learning for Inclusive Communities.

The launch of the EduConnect BiH program is supported by the UCF Edu-Fund Platform of the UniCredit Foundation, which aims to combat educational poverty among young people in countries where UniCredit Bank operates. This platform focuses on supporting programs that prevent early school leaving, strengthen teacher capacities, encourage continued education, and improve youth employability through skills development. The Institute’s EduConnect BiH program is one of the selected programs that aligns with these objectives.

The program aims to reimagine schools as more than instructional spaces – as places where creativity flourishes, competencies are developed, and students prepare to become active, responsible citizens.

However, every school’s strength lies in its teachers, who share knowledge and instill values daily, and inspire young people to learn and grow. This is what makes teaching unique – it creates all other professions. Teachers shape future doctors, engineers, artists, craftspeople, and entrepreneurs. They are the ones who, by sharing knowledge and values, build our society and pave the way to the future. Over the next three years of the program, high school teachers will have the opportunity to attend training that empowers and equips them to develop practical initiatives in their communities together with students.

The program also includes mentorship, a platform for sharing experiences, summer camps for young people, as well as opportunities for healthy competition among schools and teachers. Those who invest the most effort and show the greatest commitment will have a chance to win valuable prizes, and engage in dialogue with decision-makers.

Make sure to keep an eye on our website and social media, as more information about how you can get involved is coming soon.
