Public appearances, media and fundraising were the topics presented during the Second Training Module Strengthening Youth Councils. The workshops were delivered to the representatives of Youth Councils from 15 to 18 November 2012, in IlidĹľa.


In order to enable the participants to share their experiences and become familiar with the activities conducted by government and non-governmental institutions, they visited the Community Development Foundation MOZAIK and IlidĹľa Municipality.


Exercises that young people did during these workshops will enable them to make the maximum contributions upon taking part in the activities carried out by Youth Councils.


 

After the first Youth Council was established in Zenica-Doboj Canton at the beginning of November, another one was established as well three days later.


The Youth Council of Kakanj Municipality, which incorporates four associations (Youth intercultural student centre, Friends of the youth center, Index and Procvat), was established on 5 November 2012.


On 8 November, the Founding Assembly of the Youth Council of Visoko Municipality was held at the Municipality Hall in Visoko. The Founding Assembly was attended by eleven organisations from the area of Visoko: Damar omladine, Confero, OU Mladost, OU Bedem, SETUP, Eko viking, Opstanak, Budi mi prijatelj, Mladi volonteri, Ekologika i Taekwondo Akademija Zejd.








 

On Sunday, 4 November 2012, the Founding Assembly of the Youth Council of Lukavac Municipality was held. The Association UG Dobri Ljudi, Youth Association Devetak and the Association of Youth for Europe are the associations which make up the Youth Council of Lukavac Municipality.


Mrs. Sandra Softi? from UG Good people was elected the President of the Assembly. In accordance with the adopted agenda, the Statute of the Youth Council was passed and the members of the Managing and Supervisory Boards were nominated as well. Mr. Senad Kuduzovi?, a representative of the Youth Association Devetak, was elected the President of the Youth Council of Lukavac Municipality.


The Youth Council of Lukavac Municipality is the fifth Youth Council established in Tuzla Canton.



 

The Founding Assembly of the Youth Council of Kladanj Municipality was held on 27 October 2012, at the House of Culture in Kladanj. The Youth Council comprises the following four youth organisations:



    1. Association Omladinski krug Kladanj

    2. Centre for Youth, Ecology and Culture CMEK Kladanj

    3. KUD Mladost Kladanj

    4. UG SOH-BET Kladanj


      Mr. Mirza Sarajli?, a representative of CMEK Kladanj, was elected the President of the Assembly. After the proposed working materials had been discussed and following discussions, the Statute of the Youth Council of Kladanj Municipality was passed and the members of the Administrative and Supervisory Boards were elected. Mrs. Ernada Avdibegovi?, a representative of the Association Omladinski Krug Kladanj, was elected the President of the Youth Council.


      The Youth Council of Kladanj Municipality is the 21st council established in accordance with the Youth Law of FBiH.



       

      The Founding Assembly of the Youth Council of Sanski Most Municipality was held on November 1, 2012. The Council consists of three youth organisations: Centre for Peacebuilding, Sana u srcu and Naš grad. In accordance with the proposed agenda, the Statute was passed thus the elected members of the Managing and Supervisory Boards were elected. Mr. Jasmin Tali? was elected the President of the Youth Council of Sanski Most Municipality.


      Pursuant to the Youth Law of FBiH, municipal youth councils from more than 50% of the municipalities of the Canton in question are entitled to establish a Cantonal Youth Council. Since 5 municipalities in Una-Sana Canton, which comprises 8 municipalities, now have the umbrella youth body (Klju?, Velika Kladuša, Cazin, Bosanska Krupa and Sanski Most), the requirements for the establishment of the Council at the cantonal level have been met.


      Representation of youth in policy making and in the course of maintaining cooperation with the government sector at all levels of government accounts for one of the most important tasks for Youth Councils.


       

      The role and future of youth councils, networking and cooperation with the governmental authorities were the topics introduced during the first training module Capacity building of youth councils. The training module was delivered to the representatives of youth councils from 18 until 21 October 2012, in Banja Luka.


      The exercises young people did for the purpose of applying knowledge to the practical aims will help them give their maximum contribution through their participation in youth councils.
