Mentoring and Partnership: Steps Toward Empowering NGOs

Today, the Institute for Youth Development KULT welcomed representatives of the Association “Prijateljice” from Tuzla. They arrived eager to learn, share valuable experiences with our team, and gain new insights that will help improve their organization’s work.

This visit was a great example of how sharing experiences and offering support can help us in the mission of empowering non-governmental organizations.

“I want to thank the whole team for all their support prior to this visit. Today’s visit was incredibly valuable. I’m impressed by how well everything is organized and the attention to detail. It’s made me reflect on our own organization and what we can improve. The visit inspired me and gave me a deeper understanding of our organization’s work. Considering our resources, I can say I’m very proud of what we’ve accomplished. It was a fantastic experience—we learned so much! The Institute keeps up with new trends and truly deserves its reputation as an organization that supports others. You are so inspiring – thank you for that”, said Altaira Krvavac, director of the “Prijateljice” Association in Tuzla.

“At the Institute, everything is perfectly structured. We have fewer people and we have our own way of doing things. I got some great insights on finances, and I really appreciate you sharing them. We’ll do our best to implement some of the practices we saw today,” said Nedim Ašćerić, financial administrator.

“This visit was truly inspiring and motivating—I’d call it a ‘mind-expanding’ experience. This has really motivated me to drive change through the Strategy we received to guide our organizational capacity building. Step by step, one day at a time and we will grow too”, said Vlasta Marković, community centers coordinator.

The visit is part of the Institute’s Job Shadowing program, designed to transfer knowledge and provide practical advice essential for developing and improving organizational capacities. The program focuses on providing mentoring, advisory support, and empowering human resources, while also highlighting the importance of networking and building new partnerships. With these activities, the Institute is helping partner organizations become more effective and impactful, thus directly contributing to the strengthening of the civil sector.

Previous guests have frequently highlighted how valuable their time at the Institute was, emphasizing that these meetings and learning through practical examples form the foundation for the future development of their organizations. Through personal interactions, visitors have the chance to learn firsthand about the Institute’s work, ask questions, and ask for advice on how to improve their own organizations. These visits often result in new ideas and opportunities.

The Job Shadowing program is intended for all organizations that are involved in the organizational capacity-building process and that have an approved Plan or Strategy for building these capacities. This program gives employees and key team members the chance to learn and develop new skills, directly supporting their professional growth.

The Institute for Youth Development KULT would like to thank the guests from the “Prijateljice” Association for their visit and the opportunity to learn together.

We look forward to continuing our cooperation and exploring new opportunities to support the growth of the civil sector. Meaningful and lasting change is only possible when we work together.
