The Institute for Youth Development KULT has announced a public call for young people from Sarajevo Canton and Istočno Sarajevo to join the Youth Advisory Group – Future KULTivators, an initiative designed to ensure that young people’s voices are better represented in shaping programs and activities that directly affect them.
The Advisory Group is being established to make sure that the needs, ideas, and perspectives of young people are reflected in the Institute’s work and initiatives. Together with young people, the Institute will design and implement activities that empower them to take the lead in bringing positive change to their communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Current member Marija Mišković says she valued the opportunity to genuinely contribute to and support her community through volunteering carried out under the guidance of mentors.
“I’m glad I applied and became part of this initiative. It’s been a memorable experience because of everything I’ve learned, whether through events and seminars or from my colleagues at the Institute and other organizations and institutions I’ve had the chance to connect with,” she said, encouraging other young people to apply and join the membership of the new Advisory Group.
Members of the Youth Advisory Group will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and insight into how the non-governmental sector functions, how it collaborates with government institutions, and how decisions are made. Depending on their interests and expertise, they will work with different departments at the Institute and engage in planning and implementing projects, brainstorming sessions, meetings with mentors, and joint evaluations and reflections throughout their one-year term.
The Advisory Group will consist of 10 members, and is open to young people aged 15 to 30, regardless of their educational or professional background, or whether they are students, employed, unemployed, or volunteers. The Institute notes that this is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to contribute to positive change in their community and develop their skills through working with KULT’s team of professionals.
“Our goal is to give young people the space to share their ideas, contribute to community development, and become active participants in social change,” said Nedim Iljazović from the Institute’s Youth Work Department.
He explained that through teamwork, educational meetings, brainstorming sessions, and volunteer activities, members will gain firsthand insight into the work of the civil sector, develop their skills, and initiate real change in their communities. The Institute for Youth Development KULT will provide the support, mentorship, and resources young people need to turn their ideas into real actions.
If you’re interested, you can apply here no later than November 2, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered, and all applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application in due course.
