Job shadowing: Working Together to Strengthen Civil Society Organizations!

Today we were visited by representatives of the Association of Visually Impaired Citizens of Tuzla!

The Institute for Youth Development KULT has developed the concept of job shadowing, which provides civil society organizations in BiH with a new perspective on organizational development. This concept is commonly used in professional development and involves observing everyday activities, work environments, and the application of various methods and models of work in practice.

Through this engaging concept, the Association’s representatives spent the day talking with Institute employees, sharing experiences, learning new things, and asking questions about everything they found relevant and potentially applicable to their organization’s work.

“I see this visit as a great opportunity. Initiatives like this are essential because many organizations struggle to find their direction, lack the necessary capacities, and face challenges in implementing certain procedures. Job shadowing provides a lot of valuable insights, and I’ll need some time to process everything after this visit. But we already know we’ll be implementing some of what we’ve learned, said Tifa Tučić, executive director of the Association of Visually Impaired Citizens of Tuzla.

“We had a great time during the visit, the people we met were great at their jobs, very professional, and I think we learned a lot of useful things. I hope we’ll be able to apply most of what we’ve learned because many of these practices make work easier—not just for our Association, but in any workplace. Thank you for this opportunity!,” added Mersiha Hurić and Magbula Terzić, project assistants.

The Association of Visually Impaired Citizens of Tuzla is a partner organization in the program for strengthening organizational capacities through the PRAGG project, funded by the Government of Switzerland. The project is implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina by a consortium of HELVETAS and NIRAS, in partnership with local organizations, the Centers for Civic Initiatives (CCI) and the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
