Nana Hatipaša, whose home was completely destroyed in the catastrophic floods in May this year, is now happily settled back in her home. The coordination of the reconstruction efforts was managed by employees of the Institute for Youth Development KULT, who collected funds for the reconstruction through individual donations, as well as by contacting international donors during the “We must not stop!” campaign.
Nana Hatipaša’s home is one the first buildings we have repaired in its entirety. It is now completely fit for living a dignified life. The Institute initiated the “We must not stop!” campaign by forming a Crisis Committee which coordinated all international and domestic donors. All donations have been documented and made available publicly on our website www.poplave.mladi.org
, to ensure that the campaign is transparent and available to the public. Of course, our efforts yielded results, and the very act of repairing nana’s home and seeing the smile on her face is reward enough.” Stated Mirela Ajanovi?, Project Coordinator at the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
Nana Hatipaša is only one of many people whose property was completely destroyed in the floods which happened in May this year. Activists of the Institute for Youth Development KULT, with the help of international and domestic donors, succeeded in helping make nana’s home inhabitable again, in what was a difficult but humane gesture which should trigger further activities in our “We must not stop!” campaign, continuing until all the flood-affected areas in BiH are restored to their former state.
