The CEO of the Institute for Youth Development KULT Jasmin Bešić and the Mayor of Teslić Municipality Milan Miličević signed a partnership agreement today, pledging 60,000 BAM for the projects of youth organizations in this municipality.
“We are combining funds, 30,000 BAM provided by the Teslić Municipality and 30,000 BAM provided by the Institute. With this initiative, we aim to enhance the procedures for allocating public funds to youth organizations and ensure the implementation of youth policies in line with the Law on Youth Organizations of Republika Srpska. We want to promote implementation while supporting youth organizations that improve the position of young people in this municipality,” said Jasmin Bešić, CEO of the Institute for Youth Development KULT, after signing the agreement.
The signed agreement includes plans to provide funding to youth organizations, conduct capacity assessments, organize capacity-building seminars and trainings, and address other needs identified by young people. The Mayor of Teslić Municipality, Milan Miličević, thanked the Institute for its support.
“The Institute’s support gives us an opportunity to allocate additional funds for young people this year. Youth organizations will apply with their project proposals. I expect high-quality projects and great visibility in Teslić”, said Miličević.
Representatives of youth organizations attended the signing ceremony and were happy to be given opportunities to implement projects that would have been impossible without funding.
“This is a valuable opportunity for the growth of the youth sector in Teslić, which is currently on an upward trajectory, and for enhancing the capacity of local organizations working with and for youth,” said Marko Lončar from the Teslić Youth Club.
Four local communities have been selected to participate in this project to assist local self-government units in Bosnia and Herzegovina in establishing a funding model for youth-focused non-governmental organizations. So far, agreements have been signed with Teslić and Banja Luka. On Monday, April 25, an agreement will be signed with the City of Tuzla. The fourth local community to receive financial support is the Municipality of Ilidža.
These activities are part of the Capacity Building Works initiative, supported by the Government of Switzerland and implemented by the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
