The organization “Mi Volimo Čajniče” organized and implemented an eco-action in cooperation with the Youth Council of the “Petar Petrović Njegoš” Secondary School Center in Čajniče.
This local civil initiative seeks to engage citizens in improving both their local community and society as a whole. The NGO “Mi Volimo Čajniče” successfully achieved this through an impactful activity that will benefit the entire community, regardless of age.
“Mi Volimo Čajniče” organized and implemented an eco-action at the end of October 2024 in Zlodo, in the municipality of Čajniče. In addition to its main goal of cleaning the local forest, the initiative actively engaged young people to raise their awareness of the importance of environmental protection. It aimed to show all generations how they can contribute to protecting the nature and beauty of their communities. The sustainability of these activities comes from the education young people receive, which includes both theoretical and hands-on work. This approach helps raise awareness about environmental issues and the standards individuals and communities should follow.
Small actions, such as eco-initiatives targeting both small and large areas, play a crucial role in reducing environmental pollution, preserving biodiversity, and preventing the depletion of natural resources. In addition, spending time outdoors and involving young people in activities in nature has a positive impact on their mental health. Volunteering fosters teamwork, boosts personal satisfaction, improves emotional well-being, and significantly reduces stress and anxiety.
Despite the challenges and obstacles, young people increasingly demonstrate their capability and commitment to environmental protection. The NGO “Mi volimo Čajniče” is a perfect example of this with their “Let’s Clean Up” project.
The action was funded by the “Designing, Creating and Adopting Youth Policies” is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Institute for Youth Development KULT in partnership with the RYCO Regional Youth Cooperation Office, the Youth Council of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Network of youth centers for animation, development and training of Republika Srpska (M.O.C.A.R.T.) and the Association of Secondary School Students in BiH.
