As part of an initiative promoting socially responsible business practices in Bosnia and Herzegovina, eleven companies and institutions were formally presented with the Charter on Business and Human Rights during the month of June.
By signing the Charter, these new signatories have demonstrated their commitment to improving business practices in accordance with international standards and contributing to the development of a more just, responsible, and sustainable society. By signing the Charter on Business and Human Rights, companies and institutions send a clear message that ethical and responsible business conduct is key to long-term success. This initiative contributes to building a business climate where respect for human rights is considered the standard, not the exception.
The Charter was signed by the following businesses/institutions: Government of Brčko District BiH, Kladanj Municipality, Green Network Tuzla, Tuzla Canton Chamber of Commerce, City of Tuzla, Ajnex d.o.o., Hayat d.o.o., Public Institution “Culture and Sports Center” Vogošća, Lepenica Company d.o.o., Stanari Municipality, and Public Enterprise “Radio and Television Vogošća” d.o.o. Vogošća.
In addition to the Charter signings, a workshop on “Respect for Human Rights in Business” was held at Hitstart d.o.o., a company that employs people with disabilities. The workshop addressed the importance of applying human rights principles in daily work and business relationships. Hitstart d.o.o. is also one of the Charter signatories.
This initiative is being implemented within the “Improving Human Rights Corporate Accountability in BiH” project, funded by the European Union in BiH and carried out by the Institute for Youth Development KULT in partnership with the Commerce Trade and Services Trade Union and the Association “Dajte nam šansu”.
We invite all companies, institutions, and local communities throughout BiH to join this initiative and actively contribute to developing a business environment where workers’ rights are respected.
