Velika Kladuša is now home to a brand-new space dedicated to young people!
With the official opening of the Youth HUB, the municipality has taken a bold step toward building a more creative and active community that truly reflects the needs of its youth.
As the first center of its kind in Velika Kladuša, the Youth HUB has opened its doors to young people, offering a place where ideas are welcomed, voices are heard, and potential is given the space to grow.
“Today, we officially open the doors of the Youth HUB. On behalf of the Mayor, I wish great success and many projects to the young people and organizations that will be using this space. The Municipality of Velika Kladuša will continue to support the Youth HUB and the youth sector. This is an important step forward for our youth and our local community, and we hope that the ideas developed here will help make our town a better place for all of us,” said Nejra Ćerimović Delić, Advisor to the Mayor.
Designed with intention and care, the HUB aims to become a central point of youth activism, learning, and cultural expression. Its long-term vision is to offer a space where young people can access educational, cultural, sports, and professional development activities, and launch their own projects and ideas.
The HUB is founded on a long-term sustainability model and built in collaboration with local authorities, schools, civil society, and the private sector. Initiatives for institutional support are underway, a membership model has been created, and the first steps toward social entrepreneurship have been taken, ensuring that the HUB can grow and thrive independently.
“The Institute has supported youth work and activism in Velika Kladuša for many years. Today, many young people are socially isolated and spend a lot of time on social media. Centers like this can change that as they offer a chance to socialize, spend free time in a meaningful way, and express creativity. I believe this youth center will become the heartbeat of the community,” said Jasmin Bešić, CEO of the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
“The opening of the Youth HUB was supported by the Municipality of Velika Kladuša and the Institute for Youth Development KULT. The space is equipped with IT equipment, and part of it is designed for informal gatherings where young people can unleash their creativity. Just yesterday, the space was brought to life with murals, and young people suggested organizing an art workshop. This kind of space was very much needed, and I’m confident our young people will make great use of it,” added Jasmina Keserović, representative of the Youth Council of Velika Kladuša.
The opening of the Youth HUB marks just the beginning of a story that will continue with every smile, every realized idea, and every new voice that finds its place here. When given the opportunity, young people bring change to their communities!
The renovation and launch of the HUB were made possible through the support of the Municipality of Velika Kladuša and the Institute for Youth Development KULT, as part of the Youth Council’s project “Youth HUB Velika Kladuša – A Space for Activism and Development.”
