Following this year’s 68th European Forum Alpbach, the members of the Initiative Group Alpbach Sarajevo (IGAS) organised the 4th World CafĂ© centering upon the topic Our Expectations: Future of Culture and Arts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the School of Economics, on 26 September 2012. During this gathering, the discussion revolved around the topics such as the future of art and culture in our country, and the role of relevant institutions (NGOs and competent Ministries) in the course of improving the current state of affairs concerning art and culture.
The event was funded by the Austrian Ambassador to BiH Nj.E. Donatus Köck, and the discussion was facilitated by Dr. Claudia Schmied, Austrian Minister for Education, Arts and Culture, Wolfgang Petritsch and by Wagner Gottfried. The opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions about the topics of the 4th World Café Sarajevo was given to Haris ?alki? (Association URBAN from Sarajevo), Dobrila Govedarica (Open Society Fund), Petra Bischof (Prohelvetia, Sarajevo), Ena ?ozo (Sarajevo Film Festival), Hana Stoji? (TRADUKI) and to many others.
The three discussion sessions and the final panel discussion focused on the opportunities for international cultural cooperation, features of BiH art, and the challenges of non-profit organisations in the field of culture and art.
This event was organised by the Initiative Group Alpbach Sarajevo (IGAS) and it was funded by the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in BiH, the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture of the Republic of Austria. The World Café was supported by the Student Parliament of the University of Sarajevo (SPUS) and the School of Economics in Sarajevo.
